Live Music:
Peter Davis and Lindy Hop Heaven
On Friday and Sunday nights we will dance to the music of Lindy Hop Heaven, lead by multi-talented Peter Davis (reeds, piano, banjo, guitar and vocals). The rhythm section rides on the mix of Harry Aceto's heartbeat bass with Tom Mitchell's guitar chords, accented by the classic swinging of George Reed on drums (George actually danced at the birthplace of the Lindy Hop, the original Savoy Ballroom in Harlem). Dave Davies will join us again on guitar, vocals and trombone and the incomparable solos and rhythmic riffs of cornetist Peter Ecklund round out the sound. In addition to playing for evening dances they will provide live music for some of our classes and for our final all-camp musicality class.

At the forefront of the Northeast swing dance revival music scene, Peter and the band regularly play for dances in Northampton MA, Rochester, Ithaca, Albany, and Poughkeepsie, for festivals like Falcon Ridge, the Dance Flurry and Winterhawk, and at "swing camps" like Ashokan Swing Week, Beantown, the SF/Oakland Swing Dance Festival and Swing Out Northwest.

"Peter Davis is my favorite swing dance musician!"
- Bill Borgida

"Peter Davis' Lindy Hop Heaven Orchestra is absolutely one our favorite swing bands. Their musicianship and creativity is so high, so inspiring, they're a joy to listen or dance to. Plus... great energy, genuine sensitivity to the needs of dancers, and always in the pocket"!
- Richard Newman and Esther Brill,
Rochester Swing Dance Society.

Cangelosi Cards
We're excited to welcome back the Cangelosi Cards, from New York, who will keep us dancing at our Thurs. and Sat. late night dances. The Cards are an exceptionally rhythmic and melodic group, and their repertoire spans the roots of jazz, swing and blues. They feature Jake Sanders on guitar, Marko Gazic on slide guitar, Cassidy Holden on bass, Miguel Wiseman on harmonica and the inimitable Tamar Korn on vocals, and will again be joined by special guest Gordon Webster on piano.

The Gordon Webster Trio
On Wednesday night, our opening dance will feature The Gordon Webster Trio. Gordon is one of the hottest young jazz pianists around, and has become a favorite with swing dancers across the country. Gordon rocked the house at SONH last year on opening night, and we are delighted to welcome him back with his trio and have them start us off with some great live music!

Campfire and Sing-Along
Bring your voices, guitars and other acoustic instruments and enjoy singing outside around a blazing campfire.

Cabaret
On Saturday night we'll have our Cabaret, where all campers and staff are invited to perform. Singing, dancing (anything but Lindy Hop!), instrumental numbers and short skits are welcome. It's always a fun a night!

DJ Dancing:
DJ Jesse Miner is our Head DJ, and will coordinate a staff including Rayned Wiles, Bill Borgida, Tomo Tanaka, Manu Smith and some great guest DJ's. Our dances on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights will feature our DJ staff.

After Hours Dancing:
Each night after the regular dancing we will serve a delicious snack (How do you spell SMORES?) followed by the option of more dancing until the wee hours.
